My road to psychology and passion for mental health started at the age of 22 when I studied undergraduate Psychology through UNISA. During this time, I taught Accounting and Business Studies at Parow High School. In 2007, I graduated Hons. Psychology at Stellenbosch University.
Having a Hons. Psychology allowed me to work at Psymetric in Cape Town as an intern Psychometrist. Psymetric focused on psychometric testing to assist clients in making decisions about careers, job placements and talent management.
At the beginning of 2008, I started working at Okonguarri Psychotherapeutic Centre under the supervision of Dr. Herman Raath. The training received at this institution shaped me personally and professionally. Being exposed to a wide range of psychopathologies and treatment modalities, Okonguarri was ideal for professional development. To my mind, every individual has the right to function optimally and thrive in their respective worlds. I worked at Okonguarri as an intern Psychological Counsellor, Psychological Counsellor and completed my internship in 2012 as a Clinical Psychologist.
In 2013, I started working at Edugate Academy as the Head of Psychological Services. Upon request, I started to practice part-time in Tsumeb as Clinical Psychologist in 2015. In 2018, I practiced full-time in Tsumeb, Grootfontein and Otjiwarongo. I relocated to Swakopmund in 2021 and is currently practicing in Swakopmund and Walvis-Bay.
